Case Study
Project overview
Dubai’s skyline welcomed its latest iconic landmark on the night of 22.02.2022. Dubbed the “most beautiful building on earth”, the Museum of the Future was illuminated with futuristic light and video projections, marking its opening to the world. In parallel, guests were taken through the story of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum leading the emirate from humble beginnings to milestones such as the Hope probe’s arrival in Mars’ orbit.
Our task was to join a larger production team and provide all video projection equipment, expertise and crew, delivering a projection show of the highest quality for the grand opening and the weeks that followed.
Besides the size of the 170 m × 77 m building, its shape and reflectiveness were a real challenge for our video engineers. An in-depth study, a drone 3D scan, local tests and digital simulation determined the ideal projector setup.
Using 36 Barco UDX W32 projectors and a Disguise D3 server system, we created a fully redundant system operated by our experienced crew. The show was synced with lasers and light-show elements and frame-locked to be captured and edited with real-time CGI for broadcast audiences.
